Put on by the Guadalupe River chapter of Trout Unlimited, Troutfest Texas is for those who love all things fly fishing and see the importance in protecting the cold water fisheries that house our state’s trout. Troutfest is perfect for anglers of all skill levels, as it includes fly casting lessons for both beginners and experts, and features presentations from vendors, guides and outfitters on all kinds of gear and guided fishing trips. There’s even on-water boat demonstrations for anglers that are looking to transition into the float-fishing world, and presentations from local artists and rod builders that highlight the artistic nature of the sport of fly fishing. Troutfest is also perfect for the whole family, as there is a movie night, events for the kids and a lot of great food and beer; there’s something that everyone can enjoy! Additionally, Guadalupe River Trout Unlimited will be educating curious anglers on current projects in place to protect the health of Texas’s cold water fisheries, and giving insight into how concerned anglers can protect our valuable wild resources. The event will also serve as a fundraiser, so even by just attending Troutfest, you’re supporting GRTU’s work to preserve our beautiful rivers, streams and lakes for many generations of anglers to come!
